Donkey Bakery was founded in 2009 by Marc Stenfert Kroese and Luyen Shell, with the simple idea of doing business in a socially responsible way.
What do we do?
We create employment and provide vocational training and support to people with disabilities, with the majority of our team members being hearing, visually or physically impaired, from disadvantaged communities. We don’t employ staff based on official qualifications, but on one’s character, values and motivation to learn and grow. We then train them with the technical skills needed to succeed in our business operations.
It is our mission to cultivate a sustainable business with at least eighty percent of our team being people with disabilities at all levels of our organization.
The bakery and the catering services are growing constantly since 2009, proving that people with disabilities can be successfully part of a competitive business environment, where superior levels of professionalism, customer service, quality control, and hygiene are maintained.
